Python으로 PDF를 페이지별 JSON으로 변환하기 (pdfminer.six + KoNLPy)

LLM 파인튜닝 데이터를 만들려고 짠 PDF → JSON 변환 코드. 2026년에 다시 돌려보고 버그 3개(NameError, 이미 지운 PDF를 다시 여는 문제, PDF가 아닌 파일)를 고친 버전 포함.

Corrected October 2026: The code was re-run on pdfminer.six 20260107 and KoNLPy 0.6.0. Three bugs were fixed: an undefined pdf_dir in the first snippet, symmetric_difference trying to open PDFs that only exist as old JSON files, and glob('*') picking up non-PDF files. Two claims were also wrong: LangChain’s PDF loader works offline, and KoNLPy is not based on soynlp. A fixed version is at the end.

“코드가 92% 빨라진다”는 파이썬 속도 팁 7개 중 5개를 직접 재봤다. 2026년에 Python 3.14로 다시 재보니 set 멤버십은 2,000배 넘게, sum()은 4배쯤 빨랐고 나머지는 거의 차이가 없었다.

Corrected September 2026: Two conclusions in the original post were wrong. Tip 5’s “13× faster” came from timing five items once with time.time(); measured properly with timeit, the “optimized” version is about 2× slower. Tip 4 tested iteration, not membership; x in set is thousands of times faster than x in list. All five tests were re-run on Python 3.14.2 and 3.12.13 (results at the end).

Ubuntu 자동 업데이트를 끄는 설정 파일과, 보안 업데이트는 살리고 그래픽 드라이버 같은 특정 패키지만 고정하는 방법(apt-mark hold, Package-Blacklist)을 정리했다.

Updated September 2026: Added a safer option that keeps security updates on and only holds specific packages, based on the current Ubuntu Server documentation (24.04 LTS). The commands in the new sections were checked against the official docs but not re-run on an Ubuntu machine for this update.
